We cordially invite researchers from all over the world to participate in this symposium on the specific adaptations to hematophagy in blood-feeding animals. The meeting will focus on the biologically active ingredients of saliva of blood-feeding animals and their potential effects in host animals and in the parasite itself. We also invite contributions dealing with mechanisms of host finding, activation and mechanism of saliva transfer to the host or the storage and digestion of host blood by the parasites.
