Important:

After registering, you will receive an email from the organiser. We have arranged that every participant buys what they like from a list and, keeping sustainability in mind, brings their own dishes and cutlery. You may also receive a recipe for a delicious salad that you can prepare the day before.

Quality over quantity

Healthy barbecuing starts with shopping. Look for fresh products and try to buy regional and seasonal fruit and vegetables. By the way, healthy barbecues and weight loss can also work with meat. You can barbecue any kind of meat, as long as you stick to lean cuts. Of course, fat is a source of flavour, but you can also cut off the fat once the meat is cooked.

Make way for herbs and vegetables

Vegetables build the foundation for a healthy diet. Serve crunchy barbecued vegetables with your meat and add variety to your barbecue habits. If you eat a vegetarian or vegan diet, it’s an easy way to fulfil the recommended 500-600 g of vegetables per day. Suitable barbecue vegetables include onions, aubergines, pumpkin, peppers, courgettes and fennel. They add colour to the bbq and boost your immune system at the same time. Broccoli and carrots enrich your mixed salads and help your immune cells with their work.

Light side dishes

Potato salad and pasta salad with mayonnaise, white bread and rich sauces are anything but figure-friendly. No doubt about it, these barbecue sides are always tasty. Light side dishes to suit everyone’s taste prove that they can be healthier and contain fewer calories. Fat is a great source of flavour, but crunchy vegetables, fresh herbs and pulses give you plenty of aroma. A particularly light side dish for the barbecue is a fresh leaf salad with homemade dressing: mix oil, vinegar, spices and herbs and you have a healthy alternative to calorie-laden ready-made dressing. Barbecued vegetables on skewers also taste delicious and are low in calories.
