At the University of Greifswald’s Department of Finnish and Scandinavian Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, there is a job vacancy in the Swedish language teaching unit that is expected to be available from 1 October 2025, subject to budgetary regulations, for a full-time
Teaching and Research Assistant.
The position on offer is permanent and suitable for part-time employment. Payment will be made in accordance with pay group 13 TV-LWissenschaft.
Job description:
- Providing services primarily in teaching language classes at the Swedish language teaching unit in accordance with LVVO M-V (currently planned: 16 classes à 45 min. per week)
- Teaching in the B.A. and M.A. degree courses that the Department of Finnish and Scandinavian Studies is involved in, as well as the teacher training degrees for Swedish (at Gymnasium and Regionale Schule level)
- Active participation in the planning and development of the classes on offer, as well as of the corresponding teaching materials
- Administrative and organisational tasks in the running of the Department
- Participation in the organisation of cultural and academic events, as well as maintaining corresponding professional relations with Sweden and the Swedish Embassy
Job requirements:
- On commencement of employment, a completed university degree (master’s or equivalent degrees) with Swedish as a first or second language
- Relevant teaching experience
- Native-speaker or native-speaker equivalent proficiency in Swedish
- German language skills at A2 level
Desirable:
- English language skills
