‘The University’s Rectorate will not tolerate the disparagement or any other kind of encroachment upon the lives of members of the university community and shall do its utmost to contribute towards the elucidation of the attacks. We will do everything within our power to combat xenophobic tendencies and to advocate a tolerant and respectful coexistence of members of the university community and Greifswald’s citizens,’ explains Prof. Dr. Katharina Riedel, Pro-Rector for International Affairs.

People from more than 90 countries study, teach and perform research at the University of Greifswald. Approximately 7.5 % of students and 10 % of the academic staff members come from abroad. In line with the Ministry of Education’s strategic goals, the University of Greifswald aims to consolidate its international relations and gain further internationals for studying, teaching and research.
