Prof. Karlhans Endlich has been a member of the faculty governance for ten years. He has been a university professor and Head of the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology in Greifswald since 2005. He first studied Human Medicine at the University of Heidelbergand then Physics, successfully completing both courses. He completed his doctorate and habilitation in Medicine. In 1998, he obtained the authorisation to teach physiology, a qualification he gained for anatomy and cell biology four years later.

Prof. Mladen Tzvetkov is Dean of Studies. Tzvetkov is one of two executive directors of the Institute of Pharmacology. The Faculty Council has also appointed four Vice-Deans: Prof. Georgi Wassilew as Vice-Dean for Planning and Infrastructure. The Head of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Orthopaedics is Deputy Scientific Director. He was previously Vice-Dean, together with Prof. Agnes Flöel, who is head of the Clinic for Neurology and still responsible for research. Prof. Elke Krüger, Head of the Institute for Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Prof. Andreas Stahl, Head of the Ophthalmology Clinic have also been appointed Vice-Deans. However, the Landeshochschulgesetz (State Higher Education Act) currently only stipulates three Vice-Deans.
