Greifswald Professor Re-Elected President of the German Society of Proteome Research

The University of Greifswald’s Chair of Functional Genomics, Prof. Dr. Uwe Völker, was re-elected President of the German Society of Proteome Research (DGPF) at the end of March 2019. His re-election for a further two years took place at the Proteomic Forum 2019, the XIIIth Annual Conference of the European Proteomics Association (EuPA) in Potsdam.

Prof. Dr. Uwe Völker studied Biology at the University of Greifswald between 1982 and 1987. After completing his doctorate in 1989, he went on to work in Hamburg, Osnabrück, San Antonio/Texas and Marburg between the years 1993 and 2002, before returning to University Medicine Greifswald as Professor of Functional Genomics in 2002. He is head of the Functional Genomics Department at the Center for Functional Genomics of Microbes (C_FunGene), which was inaugurated on the Berthold-Beitz-Platz in 2018.
