Since the beginning of the russia’s war against Ukraine, Ukrainian women have been involved in the defence of the country. The lecture examines women’s roles and rights during the war focusing on women in the Ukrainian military and their participation in the resistance against occupation. It analyzes the reality of women in the military from the perspectives of policy, society- and self-perception. It also adds a local perspective to the agency/victimhood debate around women’s roles during the war.
