Application Requirements for Internationals
In order to successfully apply for a full degree programme at the University of Greifswald, please make sure that you fulfil all the necessary requirements:
1. University Entrance Qualification
For a successful application to the University of Greifswald, you need a recognised university entrance qualification.
There are two types of university entrance qualifications: a direct general higher education entrance qualification (entitles for all subjects) and a direct subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (entitles for the respective subject area).
The following databases provide information on how your foreign university entrance qualification compares to the German education system:
If your foreign school-leaving certificate does not qualify for direct admission to a degree programme, a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification can be acquired retrospectively by successfully completing years of study at a university in your home country or by graduating from one of the German preparatory colleges (‘Studienkolleg’) by successfully passing the ‘Feststellungsprüfung’.
