We are KreativEU. Welcome to Greifswald.

The consortium meeting of the European University Alliance KreativEU Knowledge and Creativity European University is being held at the University of Greifswald from 7 to 10 January 2025. Representatives from all of the participating universities will find out about our university and the associated partners in the alliance. Together with members of staff from the University of Greifswald, they will exchange ideas on the topics of ‘cultural heritage’ and ‘ecocultural identity’ as well as formats planned for studies and teaching.

The University of Greifswald is a partner in the KreativEU Alliance, which was approved by the European Commission at the end of June 2024. Together with ten European universities, the overarching goal and vision of KreativEU is to establish a European university that places the creative potential of Europe's cultural heritage at the centre of its teaching, research and transfer activities.

Summer School SustainMV 2024

This sustainability summer school is jointly presented by all universities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (MV), north-east Germany, and is open to international Bachelor, Master and PhD students and postdoctoral researchers and academics. The Summer School is already running and will end with a lecture by Dr Susann Görlinger on 4 September. You can find more information in our calendar of events.

DAAD program “FIT”

The University of Greifswald has been granted approximately one million euros in DAAD’s programme “FIT - Promoting Academic Success and Labour Market Integration of International Talents”. The International Office was able to convince the DAAD with its proposal for the national competition that saw a high level of participation.

DAAD prize 2024

Doctoral candidate Devu Mahesan from India has received the 2024 DAAD Prize from the University of Greifswald. The prize, worth 1,000 euros, was presented by Pro-Rector Dorthe GA Hartmann on 29 May 2024, as part of the Dies academicus. The award from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) honours international students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements on both an academic and at a community level.

Philipp Schwartz Research Fellowship Awarded to Prof. Svitlana Kuznichenko

A Philipp Schwartz Fellowship has been awarded to Ukrainian scholar, Prof. Svitlana Kuznichenko. The Philipp Schwartz Initiative was launched by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Federal Foreign Office in 2015.
